Trail Run- Very Hilly Course with 2000 feet of climbing and 2000 feet of descent. You will start on the XTERRA bike tri course and run the 8km loop which includes 2km of single-track and 6km of very beautiful XC ski trails through the Oak Hill ski area. You will then finish the final 3.5km on the XTERRA run course on a trail called rollercoaster. This is not a very technical trail system but it does have lots of uphill and downhill.
Standard Course- In a few words this is an excellent beginner triathlon and a really great crossover triathlon for those of you coming to try your first off road event from the roadie side of things. There is a lot of climbing and descent on the course but only 2km of the 8km bike course is technical single-track. The final 6km of the bike course are on the Dartmouth XC ski Trails which makes it easy to pass and pull over if necessary. It will feel like you are riding single-track the whole day because of the remoteness of the trail system. You will then finish the final 3.5km on the XTERRA run course on a trail called rollercoaster.
Children's- A nice FUN hilly course. It will test your child’s mental ability of endurance a little as the course is slightly hilly but not technical.
XTERRA- A “GREAT COURSE” as stated by many top XTERRA athletes. This course really brings a little bit of everything to the table. The swim is 1km in length in a really nice calm pond… The water temperature this time of year ranges from 75 to 80 degrees. It may or may not be wetsuit legal. The mountain bike has great climbing and good high speed descents with about 4km of GREAT single-track over the length of the course. You will bike approximately 16km or two laps of 8km. The Trail Run is on a trail called ROLLERCOASTER, oh ya it is just that. VERY FUN Two laps of 3.5km give you a final distance of 7km of trail running.
